46 balloons took off  from Battersea Park at 5:15am on Sunday June 9th the first-ever launch of its kind from this location. The balloons flew over many of the city’s most famous landmarks, including the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament, Cutty Sark, Greenwich, Canary Wharf and Thames Flood Barrier.

We were delighted to see so many Ultramagic Balloons in attendance including many new animal shapes. The Longleat Lion ‘Simbaloo’ was joined by ‘Adelaide’ the Koala making its maiden flight across London.

Also making its debut across London was the fantastic new Panther Balloon, recently delivered to Steve Thomas of Bristol it was flown over London this year by Josep Llado the founder and CEO of Ultramagic Balloons in Spain. Josep flew into London just hours before take-off, joined the flight and then had to get back to Spain for a meeting first thing Monday so it really was a flying visit!

Also this year one of the main Sponsor’s ‘Fresh Air’ debuted their beautiful and colourful Ultramagic M105 across the London Skyline.

The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta® is quickly becoming a standout feature in London’s calendar and the annual event has raised an overall total of £250,634 to date. The funds raised for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal will support three inspirational charities: Samaritans, OnSide Youth Zones and Place2Be.

Founded and organised by, Exclusive Ballooning, the Balloon Regatta® has been running since 2015.

We look forward to debuting some new balloons across the skies of London on 2020.
